There hasn't been a change in policy, as we can, in extreme circumstances make changes to usernames, however the general rule is they're not allowed due to the amount of requests it can generate.

While I can't discuss the user in questions case I can tell you that it was a one-off and that it was fully justified.

Mark, just do it like on the XBOX and charge people.  (xbox charges 800 points whatever that is)

That way you won't get asked every 5 mins.

On a serious note though, is there something in the signup process for the forum that states names can't be changed once registered, ie 'think long and hard before commiting to this username' ?

I wasn't after a name change, but I had noticed this guy had been signing his posts with zip then suddenly his username becomes zipper.

If the the forum has a no name change policy that's how it should be, I can't think of any extreme circumstances for a change it's only a forum username.

Cheers. Its a sensitive issue everyone and I would prefer it if you didn't draw too much attention to me changing my name for security reasons as have threads, build up posts etc been removed.Can we move on?

About £7.50 it amazies me how many of my mates change there names every other month because they change there clans
