LOL once again excuse my ignorance but I spotted another thing in my car today for which I have no idea what it's for.  I am hoping to get at least one person thanking me tremendously for this post as they were completely unaware of this magical detail in their car aswell Stick out tongue

Ok now I have built up the tension I shall describe the item I am referring to.........

Actually I am going to throw it open for opinions first hahaha !

Can anybody tell me what they think I could be referring to?  Your only clue is that the detail/item in question is INSIDE the car....

A beer to the 1st person who gives the correct answer

This could be anything from the section of sun visor above the rear view mirror to the alarm ultrasonic kill switch on the bottom of the B post or even the cup holder that few people spot in the rear of the center consol. Is it any of them or is it the holes in the rear seat base for the headrests to be stowed when the seats are down Smile

I don't believe it !!! how fast was that ... 20 seconds at most WELL DONE!

    Here is your beer Beer

It was in fact the little flap above the rear view mirror, after some thought i did think it might be a tiny sun visor for those moments during the day when the sun is at that particalarly annoying position and then thought 'no surely they wouldn't have added that lovely little touch',,, I then remembered reading that the golfs are over engineered and smiled a little smile of satisfaction to myself as I drove away into the sunset that day. Paradise I wasn't 100% sure so thought I would ask but you have indeed confirmed my assumtion was correct.

    Well done once again :D

p.s What is this kill switch trickery you speak of? Surprise

on the drivers side runnign down where ur seat belt is. ull see a button at night its illuminated.

it turns off the interior sensors so u can lock pets (aka kids) inside the car and not trigger the alarm and they also cant get out no mater what they do.

i call it the knight rider button.

the 2nd click disables the internal sensors and unlocks the deadlock..

    hmmm you sure hotboy?

My handbook says on keyfob:  "If you press the close button twice the deadlock and antitheft alarm are deactivated."

I presumed this was for the reason you mention above and someone is in the vehicle and might need to get out and also to stopthe sensors activating.

you read what i said wrong. pressingit twice reease the deadlock.

what im referring to is the following.

put baby in car and lock car after a minute or so the kid moves about trigers the alarn as the senors insidde are active as the car is locked.

    second scenario.

put baby in car with garry glitter. press button on the b-pillar to deactivate sensors. press your keyfob and lock the car. the deadlocks are now armed and garry glitter wont trigger the alarm from inside. he also wont be able to get out the car. easy for the police to arrest him after.

The flap above the mirror is actually to stop the passengers reading light reflecting into the mirror.

Give it a try and you'll see how it works Yes

Well, i didn't know about the headrest stowage... that's cooler than cool Yes

Presumably there's space to stow all 3... Can't believe dub would go to all the trouble of such brilliant design then forget about the middle one lol... That's the sort of thing Rover would do...

Gotta say, these little subtle design touches are what I love most about veedub.

I always use the flap on the mirror to stop a blinding full beam behind me... try it if you've not already.

Yup, there's 2 in the larger seat base and one in the smaller one Yes

one thing i marvelled at the other week was the little hook in the underside of the parcel shelf to hook the boot floor carpet on when you're getting in the spare wheel well
