On my AGN the red line on the tacho is at 6500 RPM,so I guess yours must be the same?

As above, Mate.  Sounds like something isn't right on yours - get it on VAGCOM.  Yes

I've vagcomed it when the problem started, its just so strange i just gave the car to one mate of mine for an hour or two and he came back with the driver side window regulator knackered. I changed the fuel relay, changed coolant sensor, cleaned the throttle body. now what might be limiting the revs to 4200rpm.

    Hi Chris,

It seems to be in limp mode it does not cross 4200rpm in any gear.

Btw my crankcase hose in gone and i have duct taped it would that cause the car to go into limp mode

When I put my key in the ignition and just turn it a bit the fuel pump relay starts ticking like crazy I changed it several times but they all do that .

     I really don't know - sorry mate...

Might be worth looking up the codes to see what they mean...

Does seam the car is in limp home.

possible that the crankcase would cause a air leak code (to lean)

what happens if you dele all the DTC's (write them down/save)?

as the list there I would hope that things have been unplug with the ign on.

Have you reset learn values with the throttle body after cleaing?

    Hi Mike,

When you say you would hope that things have been unplug with the ign on.

Does that mean you hope i didnt unplug anything with the IGN on ?

My alternator was knackerd so i started my car with a frends battery and changed it while the engine was running and my headlights bulbs went dead and I had to change them.

But this not reving past 4200rpm occured months after that.

with a list of codes like that it seams that componats have been unpluged while the igntion has been on, If all these codes were present you would need a deep pocket,

Try clearing the codes and see which return once the car is restarted.

I will scan the car again with vagcom as soon as I get my hands on a laptop with a com port and post the results here.

I would like to thank all of you for your feedback.

    Hi,

Hooked vagcom to the car cleared all the codes and aligned the throttle body.

The car is reving fine now to 6500rpm.

I still have these errors :

    00515 - Camshaft Position (Hall) Sensor (G40)

            30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent

and when I am about to start the engine i can hear the fuel pump relay ticking tick tick tick and the fuel pump pumping fuel.

sounds right with the fuel pump relay clicking, as its got to correct pressure.
Have you check the cam pos rev signal? if no signal/ poor the sensor is at fault, if you can produce the DTC to pressent via moving the wiring, its a wiring fault whoch is testing more etc.
